Indisputably Exceptional

PHENOMINAL EXPERIENCE, EXCELLENT HOTEL!

Although I've traveled to many different places and stood at countless hotels, this was my first time traveling to Cartagena, and I was torn between staying here, the Hyatt, or the Hilton. I came with my girlfriend, my sister, and my brother-in-law for a 6 day vacation, we are all in our mid 30's.

I am so glad we picked the Intercontinental for this trip! The hotel was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and professional, being here we all felt safe, the hotel is very clean and room service did a great job everyday at not bothering us, but cleaning our rooms at great times within our not being in the room schedule. Plenty of towels in our room and never needing to ask for new towels or any other items. They have a great pool area, and their restaurant is a quality place to dine in. The hotel overall had a great vibe and a quality feel.

The hotel's location is also in a great area. Once you step outside you are greeted by the beaches main area where it is so lively, and on the backside of the hotel is one of the main strips in the area with numerous stores, restaurants, super markets, vendors, casino's and much more all within extremely close walking distance. We drove passed the Hyatt numerous times, and even though we did not walk around and explore the Hyatt's area, it looked like the Hyatt's location is more secluded and away from all the action, if you want the action to be walking distance between 1 - 10 minutes away.

This hotel also played such a special role in my proposal to my now fiance. After being in Caratena for a few days and looking for the perfect place to propose to my current fiance, who always stated if I ever asked her that magic question to please do it somewhere very intimate with preferably just her and myself. I decided our hotel room suite would be the perfect place. Long story short, one of the staff members in the main lobby, which her name is Daniella, helped me bring my vision to life. I came to her on a very short notice and stated I would like my room to be professionally decorated for a proposal, and she came through on such short notice and created the best experience I can ask for. She decorated the room so beautifully and added such great detail in so many ways, I was SHOCKED AND STUNNED when I walked into the room, after she completed decorating it. She did so amazing, everyone who viewed the video I made of the room was amazed and gave me so many compliments. I want to give a BIG THANK YOU TO DANIELLA! You really saved my week and created such a beautiful memory my fiance and I will never forget!

The Intercontinental definitely met my expectations and even exceeded it for certain things, and I have no complaints! They did so great I just had to come and leave them a positive review, and try to help anyone out who is stuck in choosing between certain hotels within the area. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great and safe feeling hotel experience!
